Edward Kennedy “Duke” Ellington composed or co- composed more than 1,000 works, ranging from dance melodies to sacred pieces incorporating elements of blues, gospel, and classical traditions. Ellington’s contributions earned him 14 Grammy Awards, the Presidential Medal of Freedom, and a posthumous Pulitzer Prize. Please join Artistic Director of Jazz, Courtney D.
