Florida Atlantic University Libraries, Special Collections is displaying Americans at War: WWII and the Holocaust. When war was declared in 1941, sixteen million Americans responded to Uncle Sam’s call and served in the U.S. Army, Navy, Marines, and Army Air Forces. From pre-war antisemitism to the surrender of the Axis Powers, this exhibition will narrate the war and devastation through photographs, letters, war documents, and ephemera.The exhibition will be open from 10 am to 2 pm on Tuesdays to Thursdays.The exhibition run dates Tuesday, March 5 – Thursday, April 25

Join a free Gentle Yoga Class every Tuesday this April at the College of Nursing. Geared specifically for those new to yoga or those interested in gentle practice, the classes incorporate simple flowing sequences to warm up the body, as well as slower-paced movements focusing on alignments, strength, and balance. The classes are held in person in Room 115, College of Nursing Building, and on Zoom. No experience is required. This talk seeks to understand how people connect with their ecosystems throughout the globe. Looking at how knowledge transfers between generations, National Geographic Emerging Explorer Dr. Maria Fadiman will explore the concept of ethnobotany, people and plants, looking at examples of what that means, and how that knowledge is transferred. She will then examine a specific case study in the Bahamas.
