The Florida Government Finance Officers Association (FGFOA) was founded in 1937 and serves more than 2,800 professionals from state, county, city governments, school districts, colleges and universities, special districts, and private firms. - Summer Recap & Fall Intro!We currently have a ton of events line up. If you haven't already made your way over to our events section we have the following: September 3rd, 2015 will be our ASU Mixer at 5:00PM to 7:00PM in Majestic A/B near The Burrow and Cafe in the Student Union!. Come out to meet new friends, learn about ASU, get information about campus and maybe we can answer a few questions about your own major and classes. Don't be shy and come on out! We're family here at FAU and we'd love for you to be a part of our Ohana! September 9th, 2015 will be our FIRST meeting! We will give out more details about our organization, what we stand for, what we look forward to doing in the future, and other events planned with possible trips out of state or locally. - ASA will be hosting the IRS:CI Today!The IRS Criminal Investigation (CI) serves the American public by investigating potential criminal violations of the Internal Revenue Code and related financial crimes in a manner that fosters confidence in the tax system and compliance with the law. According to information on the IRS website, the conviction rate for federal tax prosecutions has never fallen below 90 percent. The IRS asserts that its conviction rate is among the highest and that it is a record that is unmatched in federal law enforcement. In 2019, IRS-CI initiated 1500 investigations, with 942 prosecutions recommended and 848 sentenced. This will be a great opportunity to learn more about IRS and interact with its professionals!
