OIT Systems Maintenance, Thurs. Sept 15 from 3:00AM to 7:00AM
Office of Information Technology will be performing routine systems maintenance which includes but is not limited to rebooting Windows servers as deemed necessary, installing critical patches and other health checks on Thursday, 09/15/2022 from 3:00 AM to 7:00 AM during OIT maintenance window. In addition, the following systems will be specifically impacted:
Network Registration Upgrade
Description of change: The network registration system and part of the Library’s EZproxy authentication system will be upgraded and migrated to new infrastructure. These upgrades include several new features: FAUGuest Wireless will support email addresses. FAUGuest Wireless now supports FAU’s current theme and usability standards. Performance improvements to Network Registration.

End User Impact: The FAU Guest registration system has a new theme and supports email. There should be no other user impact.
Desktop Security Change
Description of change: OIT will be making a security related change to desktops.

REDCap Update
Description of change: REDCap will be offline while the Office of Information Technology performs routine maintenance.

Graduate Admissions Update
Description of change: OIT will be migrating the Graduate Admissions Application to new infrastructure.

Minor update to Course Entry Quiz submission action
Description of change: OIT will apply updates to better handle course entry submissions that cause authentication check to redirect user to course quiz list instead of error.

Banner extract program change
Description of change: OIT will update Banner to include VA instructional method in Banner

Research Computing HPC Cluster Image Update
Description of change: OIT will be applying an image upgrade on the research computing cluster.

End User Impact: The cluster scheduling software will reboot each node as they become idle.
Latest System & Network Status
- Zoom -> Mediasite Imports offlineCurrently Zoom recordings designated for import to Mediasite are not being imported. OIT is aware and is investigating the problem with the vendor. Recordings can still be uploaded manually in the web interface.

- Health Virtual Desktop InfrastructureResearch Computing’s last-generation Virtual desktop Infrastructure (vhealth.fau.edu) is currently offline. We have identified the problem and are working to resolve it. Our new generation VDI is currently online and working as expected.
