OIT Systems Maintenance, Thurs. Sept 29 from 12:00AM to 7:00AM
Office of Information Technology will be performing routine systems maintenance which includes but is not limited to rebooting Windows servers as deemed necessary, installing critical patches and other health checks on Thursday, 9/29/2022 from 3:00 AM to 7:00 AM during OIT maintenance window. In addition, the following systems will be specifically impacted:
Network Registration Upgrade
Description of change: The network registration system and part of the Library’s EZproxy authentication system will be upgraded and migrated to new infrastructure. These upgrades include several features requested by end users at The University. The new features are:
FAUGuest Wireless will support email addresses.
FAUGuest Wireless now supports FAU’s current theme and usability standards
Performance improvements to Network Registration

End-user impact: The FAU Guest network registration system will get a new theme applied and will support email. There should be no other user impact.
Graduate Admissions Update
Description of change: OIT will be migrating the Graduate Admissions Application to new infrastructure.

Affected services: Graduate Admissions application and College of Business admissions application
End-user impact: No end-user impact is expected.
Upgrade to International Student Services server
Description of change: OIT will upgrade the server for International Student Services

Downtime window end: 09/20/2022 4:30 PM
Affected services: International Student Services
End-user impact: The server will be offline during the upgrade. As such, services running on the server will not be available.
RedCAP Update
Description of change:

End-user impact: Service will be offline for everyone during update.
Latest System & Network Status
- Zoom -> Mediasite Imports offlineCurrently Zoom recordings designated for import to Mediasite are not being imported. OIT is aware and is investigating the problem with the vendor. Recordings can still be uploaded manually in the web interface.

- Health Virtual Desktop InfrastructureResearch Computing’s last-generation Virtual desktop Infrastructure (vhealth.fau.edu) is currently offline. We have identified the problem and are working to resolve it. Our new generation VDI is currently online and working as expected.

- Mediasite UpdateMediasite will be updating the Mediasite Video Cloud to the latest release during the scheduled maintenance window on April 6, between 1:00 AM and 5:00 AM. Extended downtime is not expected. However, Mediasite may be unavailable for brief periods during this time.
