Fresh Friday will kick off first-generation student week. During the First-Gen Fresh Friday we will connect first-gen students with health and wellness services offered at Florida Atlantic. The following campus partners will be providing activities and prizes for first-gen students: Student Health Services, Owls Care Health Promotion, and CAPs. In addition, the First-Gen office will be providing food, swag, and a DJ.

High school students from around the state will perform side-by-side with members of the FAU Symphony Orchestra, directed by Laura Joella, DMA. Repertoire includes Mozart’s “Eine kleine Nachtmusik,” Fauré’s “Nocturne” from “Shylock,” Eric Whitacre’s “A Boy and a Girl,” and Brouwer’s “Beatlerianas” for guitar and string orchestra, featuring classical guitarist Juan Antonio Peña, DMA. Social Media's Healthiest Hits Join us in the MIIH kitchen where we will learn about recreating trending, health-focused recipes from social media, using nutrient dense, whole-food ingredients. Story-time Arts & Crafts promotes youth literacy through visual arts and crafts. In partnership with Barnes & Noble in Boca Raton, children and families create projects and engage in activities based on a read-aloud picture book. This biweekly event promotes community engagement in a fun and educational atmosphere. Everyone is welcome! The theme for this day is "Día de los Muertos"!
