Florida Atlantic University’s Harbor Branch Oceanographic Institute will host a day of the 2025 International Ocean Film Festival Florida tour on Saturday, June 7, from 1 to 5 p.m. at Harbor Branch, 5600 U.S. Highway 1 North, in Fort Pierce.

The event will feature screenings of eight independently produced ocean-themed films, ranging in length from 12 to 40 minutes. The feature film, “Ocean Watch – A Story of Deep Sea Exploration,” follows thrilling expeditions aboard the state-of-the-art research vessel R/V Falkor (too), as scientists chart the previously impenetrable environments hidden in the darkest regions beneath the waves. From seagrass restoration to the majestic blue whale, other films dive into some of the most fascinating stories of life in the sea.

In addition to the screenings, guests will enjoy an outdoor waterfront festival focused on marine research and conservation. Guests will be able to meet with Harbor Branch scientists to learn about their ongoing research, as well as explore Harbor Branch’s marine mammal ambulance and its award-winning “Discovery” pontoon, and capture a memorable photo-op with the famed Johnson-Sea-Link submersible.

“We are so excited to be hosting the International Ocean Film Festival's traveling program at FAU Harbor Branch for its third year,” said Gabby McHenry, Ph.D., director of education and outreach. “This event has quickly become a favorite among our community, and I can’t think of a better way to spend World Oceans Day, celebrating our blue planet.”

Tickets are $25. Advance purchase is required. For tickets and more information, visit www.fau.edu/hboi/filmfest .
