Movie Night

Tuesday, April 8, 2025 6:00–8:30 PM
  • Location
    S.E. Wimberly Library
  • Description
The Community Service Club and Hillel will be hosting this movie night. It is an inspiring story of Saul and Ruby, two Holocaust survivors that moved to America to create new lives, and start families. They had a love for Klezmer music, an instrumental music for celebrations which was once performed in the Jewish communities of Eastern Europe. This movie tells the story of these two men and their creation of a Klezmer music band, named "The Holocaust Survivor Band", to celebrate the beauties of life. Along with this motivational movie, students will be able to speak with and ask questions to Ruby, from the movie. Along with these things we are also able to include a service activity. We are asking students to bring non-perishable foods, household items, and/or personal hygiene products to act as a "ticket" for entrance into the event. All donations will be brought to Alpert Jewish Family Services, a local non-profit that works to support Jewish families in our community. This is an amazing event for students to engage and learn more about the Holocaust and Jewish culture.
