Several Florida Atlantic University graduate programs are included in the latest U.S. News & World Report’s “Best Graduate Programs” for 2024-25. Each year, U.S. News’ ranks professional school programs in business, education, engineering, law, medicine and nursing, including specialties in each area.

Among the FAU programs listed in the 2024-25 “Best Graduate Programs” are overall education at No. 107 (up from No. 117); engineering at No. 130 (up from No. 138); environmental engineering at No. 98 (up from No. 99); electrical, electronics and communications engineering at No. 147 (up from No. 150); mechanical engineering at No. 146 (up from No. 166); and computer science at No. 148 (up from No. 152).

“I am very proud that so many of Florida Atlantic’s graduate programs have risen in the U.S. News rankings,” said FAU President Stacy Volnick. “Their upward trajectory is a testament to the hard work and dedication of our faculty, staff and students, who continue to make these programs among the best in the nation.”

The Best Graduate Schools rankings in these areas are based on two types of data: expert opinions about program excellence and statistical indicators that measure the quality of a school’s faculty, research and students.

As prospective students research course offerings and weigh schools’ intangible attributes, the information on the U.S. News website can help applicants compare concrete factors, such as student faculty ratio and job placement success upon graduation.
