As part of our commitment to you, our goal is to ensure students’ successful transition into the FAU Greek Family by offering engaging educational programming and trainings that address potential challenges related to academics, finances, substance use, personal health, and safety. Additionally, you will have the opportunity to learn more about Florida Atlantic’s Greek Letter organization's structure, leadership opportunities, values, and ideals.
Greek University Learning Outcomes
Participants will:
- Learn about the FAU Greek community including the governing councils, signature programs, leadership opportunities, and be able to identify the staff members.
- Feel a sense of connection to the FAU Greek community, including a sense of responsibility to help a sibling when necessary, and knowing various ways to intervene.
- Recognize that they now represent the FAU Greek community and understand the potential implications and repercussions of behaviors that do not align with the policies and procedures in place, and why organizations must follow certain rules when hosting events or activities.
- Know what types of resources are available to the FAU Greek community.
As a member of the FAU Fraternity & Sorority Life community you are expected to complete the substance use and healthy relationship online trainings’ along with the hazing prevention and bystander intervention in-person trainings. Failure to do so may affect your ability become a social host and your SOAE award eligibility.

Whether you drink or not, the training will provide information to help you make informed decisions about alcohol as well as negotiate the drinking behavior of your peers. Remember, all information you provide is confidential.

CannabisEDU
CannabisEDU is a brief training that offers information to help students make informed decisions about cannabis use or non-use, including how to know when someone’s usage has become problematic.

Prescription Misuse - Stimulants and Depressants
Prescription Addiction - Stimulants and Depressants is a reality-driven course designed to help address student abuse of prescription stimulants ("study drugs" such as Adderall, Ritalin, and Vyvanse) and/or users and abusers of prescription depressants (such as Xanax, Ambien, and Valium.) Featuring personal insights from numerous former users and abusers of these drugs, the dangerous reality of abuse is presented, along with key advice for avoiding or dealing with addiction to and/or abuse of these substances.

Sexual Assault Prevention: Healthy Relationships
