The Florida Atlantic University Career Center is helping employers develop a strong talent pipeline by connecting students and recent graduates with leading organizations through expanding partnerships.
“At Florida Atlantic University, we are committed to bridging the gap between education and employment by fostering strong partnerships with industry leaders,” said Brian Montalvo, FAU assistant vice president of career services. “Through our strategic collaborations, we are not only providing students with valuable career readiness resources but also helping employers build a sustainable talent pipeline. These partnerships ensure our students are equipped with the skills, experiences and connections they need to thrive in today’s competitive job market.”
The Career Center partners with many employers, including Enterprise Mobility, NextEra Energy and Northwestern Mutual: The Striano Financial Group. These partnerships include a series of career readiness and hiring initiatives to enhance student employment opportunities through various career development programs and resources.
Examples of these relationships include Enterprise Mobility sponsoring the Professional Headshot Photobooth, which provides students with high-quality headshots that can be used for their LinkedIn profiles and other professional platforms. Enterprise Mobility’s involvement also recently increased to include class presentations, where representatives share insights into the industry, career paths and essential skills needed in the workforce.
“As we continue to seek out top talent in Palm Beach County, we’ve found that FAU students are well-prepared to enter the workforce,” said Chloe Bradigan, talent acquisition manager at Enterprise Mobility. “The university does an excellent job of preparing students to transition from backpacks to briefcases, setting them up for success in their careers.”
In an example of targeted recruitment, Northwestern Mutual supports career development programs specifically designed for student-athletes, preparing them for life after athletics. NextEra Energy has hosted job shadow days where students visit their Juno Beach headquarters and meet with professionals to learn about their roles.
The Career Center has also recently expanded interactive career preparation events with industry professionals, launched an employer education program, established an industry-to-campus lab, launched “Resume Bowl & Interview Madness” and integrated employers into a professional internship course – with more than 400 students each semester, providing direct mentorship and recruiting opportunities.
Another notable aspect of employer partnerships is their presence on the FAU Employer Advisory Council. The council provides guidance and feedback to FAU’s Career Center, ensuring that career services align with industry needs and trends.
