- 11:00 AM1h 30mThe Iran Wars and RevolutionsA four-week course on the rise and evolution of the Iran Islamic Republic, its survival for four decades, how it suppressed its own opposition and expanded in the Middle East over the years. The course will also explore US policy regarding Iran since the 1980s, Tehran support to terrorism, including Hezbollah, Hamas and the Houthis, and the signing of the Iran Deal in 2015, the withdrawal of the US in 2018, and the current challenges facing Washington in 2023, especially since the ongoing revolution started in 2022.Dr. Phares will be signing his new book, "Iran: An Imperialist Republic and US Policy," on the last day of class.
