ASA will be hosting the IRS:CI this Tuesday!
Hello Accounting Student Association Members, Join us on January 31st, 2023 during our professional development workshop with the IRS: CI. The IRS Criminal Investigation (CI) serves the American public by investigating potential criminal violations of the Internal Revenue Code and related financial crimes in a manner that fosters confidence in the tax system and compliance with the law. According to information on the IRS website, the conviction rate for federal tax prosecutions has never fallen below 90 percent. The IRS asserts that its conviction rate is among the highest and that it is a record that is unmatched in federal law enforcement. In 2019, IRS-CI initiated 1500 investigations, with 942 prosecutions recommended and 848 sentenced. This will be a great opportunity to learn more about IRS and interact with its professionals! We will be taking attendance twice during each event: for 5 minutes near the beginning and again for 5 minutes towards the end. Hope to see you there!
