- 4:00 PM1h 30mWho Are the Houthis and Why Are They Anti-American and Anti-Israel?Since Israel’s retaliation to Hamas’s barbaric attack on the Jewish nation on October 7, the Houthis of Yemen have been harshly against Israel. They are critical of Israel’s Gaza war and actively disrupting the navigation in the Red Sea, all, according to them, in support of the Palestinians. In reality, however, the Houthis had embraced an anti-American, anti-Israel ideology preceding October 7th. What accounts for and underlies the Houthis’ anti-Israel and anti-American attitude? Is it ideology, history, American and Israeli regional policies, and/or alliance with Iran? Dr. Rabil will trace the theology of the Houthis and survey its development in Yemen into a movement against Israel and the United States, adamant about supporting the Palestinian cause and Hamas at the expense of their own security."Rabil is very, very good. What young folks might call "crazy good." OLLI Patron
