Known as “the Poet Laureate of Florida,” Pratt’s life and literary contributions are highlighted through personal artifacts, photographs, and manuscripts. Visitors will journey through Pratt's early life, his rise to prominence, and his lasting impact on his field. Special Collections Exhibit: Located on the 5th floor, S.E. - 7:00 PM1hMusical Tales of Star-Crossed Lovers, Murder & the Rise and Fall of the City of the Sun God - FAU Symphony Orchestra and Jose LeonCelebrate the final concert of the season with the FAU Symphony Orchestra, conducted by Laura Joella, DMA. This concert will feature Musical Tales of Star-Crossed Lovers, Murder & the Rise and Fall of the City of the Sun God. Prokofiev’s passionate and heartbreaking musical suite from Romeo and Juliet will be featured alongside Bizet’s emotional and tempestuous musical suite from Carmen. The hypnotic, rhythmic drive of the music of the Funeral of Amenhotep III from Philip Glass’s opera, Akhnaten, which celebrates the rise and fall of the City of the Sun God, will conclude the concert. FAU’s own Jose Leon, DMA, will be the featured soloist in the dramatic French masterwork, Morceau Symphonique for Trombone and Orchestra by Alexandre Guilmant. Tickets $10.
