Florida Atlantic University’s Foundation Board of Directors welcomed Bruce Allen ’71, Gary Rubin and Marilyn Wallach to its board. The new board members were recently approved by the FAU Board of Trustees. Each will serve a three-year term beginning July 1.

“The foundation board remains focused on creating opportunity through philanthropy to support Florida Atlantic’s students, faculty and programs,” said Brian Poulin, FAU Foundation Board chair. “Through these efforts, we are transforming the lives of those impacted by our generous donors.”

Allen received his bachelor’s degree in political science from FAU in 1971. He was a prior member and past chair of the foundation board, as well as president of the FAU Alumni Association for three terms. Allen’s wife, Carolyn, is also an alumna. They both are longstanding financial supporters of the university and reside in North Carolina.

Rubin, along with his wife, Robin, and her parents, Phyllis and Harvey Sandler, have generously supported FAU, naming The Harvey and Phyllis Sandler School of Social Work and contributed to the funding the Schmidt Family Complex for Academic and Athletic Excellence. He is the co-founder of Masters Research Partners, LLC and resides in Boca Raton.

Wallach and her husband, Kurt, established the Kurt and Marilyn Wallach Institute for Holocaust and Jewish Studies within the Dorothy F. Schmidt College of Arts and Letters. She resides in Vero Beach.

Additionally, the foundation board also reappointed Paul Kilgallon – who currently serves as chair of the real estate committee – to a second three-year term. In 1999, Kilgallon formed Mainstreet Capital Partners, a real estate investment and development company with operation throughout the Southeast and Southwestern United States. He and his wife, Patricia, have lived in Boca Raton for more than 35 years.

The FAU Foundation Board is comprised of dedicated alumni and friends of the university who volunteer their time and expertise to oversee fundraising efforts and manage the foundation’s assets. The FAU Foundation, Inc., connects private philanthropy to powerful possibilities. Operating under the Division of Institutional Advancement, the 501(c)3 nonprofit foundation is a faithful fiduciary and trusted steward of donors’ gifts and wishes.
