The second annual “Owls in the Outfield,” a covered and catered outdoor event with a carnival feel, will take place on Saturday, March 16 beginning at 1 p.m., at FAU’s Baseball Stadium complex, 777 Glades Road, Boca Raton campus.
The tailgate will feature a cash bar, carnival games, giveaways and food, including funnel cakes, fried Oreos, hot dogs and more. FAU’s mascots Owlsley and Hoot, along with a DJ, photo booth, balloon artists, face painting and other activities will also be onsite.
Attendees can purchase discount tickets to watch both the FAU softball and baseball teams also play, with softball hosting UAB at 2 p.m. and baseball taking on Maine at 4 p.m.
“This is the second year of ‘Owls in the Outfield,’ which was created based on feedback we received from our Owl families wanting a spring family event,” said Justin Eggen, coordinator for family engagement at FAU. “We are looking to build on the momentum of last year’s event, and we want everyone to come out and enjoy the day of festivities.”
The 1 p.m. event has a $25 entry fee, and discounted tickets for softball are available here, and for baseball here. Tickets will also be available at the box office with a discounted price with an “Owls in the Outfield” purchase confirmation.
